Job Description

In the role as Senior Laboratory Engineer you will be responsible for the product testing function and catalyst laboratory with its units in general, including system & building functions as well as EHS for laboratory operations. You will be part of a group of laboratory personnel where the focus will be assuring the product quality. You will report to the Quality and EHS Manager in Stenungsund.


  • Together with QEHS manager, take responsibility for and develop test- and analytical methods for catalyst products and specification of raw materials.
  • Contribute to harmonization of test- and analytical methods within the company, i.e. collaboration with other European and US sites.
  • Take responsibility over and maintain company database(s) and/or systems related to laboratory operations
  • Ensure the integrity of the various LIMS systems
  • Review collected data to analyze trends and suggest and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Responsibility for instrument lifecycle management and to implement improvements of the laboratory equipment.
  • Train operators in new methods and onboarding of colleagues.
  • Take responsibility for maintenance, availability of laboratory equipment and purchasing of laboratory consumables.
  • EHS responsibility for own work carried out in laboratory and for storage and handling of laboratory raw materials and chemicals.
  • Responsible for update of ISO 9001 routines and SOP:s.

Required Skills

Required Experience

  • Relevant university degree, e.g. chemical engineering or analytical chemistry
  • Relevant experience from similar roles within process industry
  • Economic understanding from a company perspective
  • Knowledge about catalyst production considered a merit
  • Experience from analytical techniques used at Grace considered a merit
  • Good developed skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • A sense for teamwork and listening ability
  • Structure, order and quality awareness
