Job Description

Grace, a leading manufacturer of Specialty Chemicals has an immediate need for a Facilities Coordinator at the Process Innovation Center.  Specific responsibilities include:

  • Interfacing with maintenance supervisors and site contractors as required for daily maintenance and project work in the PIC pilot plant / facility.
  • Developing weekly maintenance schedule and maintaining backlog in coordination with the maintenance supervisor.
  • Planning and coordination of yearly pilot plant maintenance outage.
  • Assisting project managers and process engineers on implementation of capital projects
  • Running infrastructure and reliability capital projects for the pilot plant
  • Assure regulatory compliance, including environmental and process safety, and a safe workplace for all employees.  Address hazards, deviations, and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Works to ensure a safe working environment for employees and environmental compliance for area of responsibility.
  • Communicating and ensuring compliance with company policy and procedures. 
  • Drives EHS initiatives within areas of responsibility.
  • Works closely with pilot plant leads to schedule, prioritize, and coordinate maintenance work.
  • Responsible for area equipment files including SAP PM information, PIC labor reporting and document preparation, BOM, new equipment additions, equipment list, etc.
  • Responsible for coordination of the creation of new SAP PM.
  • Conforms to ISO 9000 and GMP (as required) standards.
  • Evaluates SAP Preventive Maintenance requirements and helps to develop and improve reliability systems as required.
  • Responsible for coordinating building maintenance.
  • Strives to reduce maintenance cost, and ensures the timely reporting of expenditures to management.
  • Ensures compliance with codes and standards for all work within areas of responsibility.
  • Supports reliability, availability and maintenance excellence initiatives as required.
  • Ensure training requirements are meet and provides skills training as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Broad knowledge and experience in the coordination of installation and repairing of of pilot plant equipment including pumps, rotating, materials handling, and gas fired equipment.
  • Understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems in a pilot plant.  
  • Use of MS Office products, - Outlook, Excel, Word, and power point.
  • Planning and scheduling work in a highly diverse operation. 

Required Experience

  • High school degree or GED or 2+ years of College or Technical school
  • 5 – 7 years of maintenance/construction experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience in facility and or maintenance manufacturing environments.


Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

SAP experience preferred.

Pilot plant manufacturing preferred.
