Job Description

We're hiring a Senior Buyer that will be dedicated to Indirect spend Categories (Professional Services/HR) to join and support our Strategic Sourcing team within our Global Operations organization. We're seeking someone who can develop and execute solutions to drive our Global Operations transformation and who values teamwork, performance, integrity, speed, and innovation with a mindset of safety at the core.

 

This position will be located at our Columbia, MD headquarters location and offers a 3 day hybrid work schedule (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday in the office). Relocation assistance is also available. In addition, we may consider an alternate location in Houston, TX with the 3 day hybrid work schedule, however no relocation assistance. 

Responsibilities

  • Fully understand, comply, and enforce our Source to Pay policies and procedures across the organization
  • Conduct searches for new suppliers of goods and services, evaluate their capabilities, assess risk, and qualify as necessary.
  • Fully understand user requirements and prepare and execute Requests for Proposals.
  • Minimize the Total Cost of Ownership associated with the purchase of goods and services.
  • Negotiate purchase agreements with key vendors for the reliable and cost-effective supply of goods and services and ensure compliance with said terms. 
  • Effectively manage the transition from incumbent to new suppliers. 
  • Pursue consolidation of the supply base to reduce complexity.
  • Manage supplier quality and conduct supplier audits as necessary.  Resolve supplier complaints and issues in a way that achieves an acceptable outcome to Grace.
  • Work cross-functionally within the Global Operations organization and other support functions such as HR, Finance, R&D, EHS, Quality, Product Stewardship and Marketing.
  • Identify, execute, and track productivity including cost reduction and cash flow improvement and support the development of the Annual Operating Plan.
  • Interact with business and corporate management as appropriate and prepare and present internal reports and project bid outcomes as required.
  • Support working capital goals by negotiating longer payment terms with suppliers.
  • Support key stakeholders in the entire source to pay process, including our systems (SAP and Ariba), providing training, and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Lead and collaborate with Stakeholder community in the development of Category Strategies for Indirect Spend to identify and drive Procurement value across the business. 

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree preferably in supply chain management or engineering. 
  • 5-7 years’ work experience in Indirect Category Experience (HR, Professional Services, Consultancy), ideally in a global industrial/manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years’ experience sourcing, negotiations, strategic procurement projects and Supplier Performance Management.
  • Experience in developing and nurturing robust stakeholder relationships to drive Procurement Value
  • Capable of communicating effectively (both oral and written) across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute Procurement Category Strategies (Indirect)
  • Proficient using MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience SAP ARIBA
  • Supply chain certification (CSCP, CPIM, CFPIM).
  • MBA
