Senior Manager, Global Sourcing and Procurement

Job Description

The Senior Manager, Global Sourcing and Procurement, EMEA will execute the global strategic sourcing strategies for direct materials for the EMEA region.  This leader is the primary business/functional partner for translating global sourcing strategies to meet local regional needs and work on developing, guiding and measuring supplier management, supplier risk mitigation and visibility, and business value for EMEA. Additionally, this leader will serve as the EMEA leader for strategic department initiatives for total cost reduction, process improvement, and savings realization.

Responsibilities

• Promote Grace’s vision of striving to be a premier specialty chemicals and materials company and demonstrate and integrate its core values into daily activities.
• Lead continuous supplier value improvement efforts internally and externally.
• Delivers annual reductions in total cost of ownership.
• Responsible for selected direct categories, as well as the strategy for global commodity categories.
• Ensures business continuity, governance and management for all types of supplier risk
• Utilizes advanced analytical skills and business intelligence to drive sourcing process end-to-end from selection through performance management to stay ahead of any sourcing issues and maximize value to Grace.
• Drives step-change improvements to deliver leading edge performance while delivering cost reduction and cash flow productivity. 
• Develops value-accretive strategies for goods and services which minimize the total cost of ownership to Grace.
• Cleary communicates analysis results verbally and in written form
• Effectively leads, influences and communicates across geographically and culturally diverse teams. 
• Develops and understands cultural diversity of global supply base.

Required Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Supply Chain or related field.
• 10+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement and/or supply chain experience in a world-class global chemical manufacturing company with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Experience working within supply chain functions with proven leadership capability.
• Experience working directly with suppliers, understanding trade-offs for total cost to serve of supplier and commercial needs, and collaborating with them to create a mutually beneficial joint business plan.
• Hands-on experience working with multiple partners to resolve exceptions and negotiate best alternatives.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of time

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA and/or procurement or supply chain certification
• Possesses strong analytical and conceptual skills linking issue resolution to process improvement and value creation for Grace. Proven capability of managing internal and supplier communication with results-driven mentality.
