Job Description

  • Coach and mentor GMS team on Change Management foundational practices to improve group performance.
  • Work as internal consultant, to develop a frmework to assess and document baseline state for the following elements:
    • Site organizational structures
    • Roles and responsibilities
    • Key performance indicators (KPIs)
    • Performance meeting structures - daily, weekly, monthly, at appropriate organizational levels
    • Work process effiency
  • Complete gap analysis for baseline state, develop a plan to implement the elements of GMS and govern progress to key indicators
  • Provide real-time feedback on meeting effectiveness and seek opportunities to help site leaders develop their management and leadership skills
  • Coach and mentor site leaders during program implementation
  • Provide input and feedback into the deployment roadmap and break down barriers to accelerate implementation
  • Develop, train, and mentor Lean, Six Sigma or Continuous imrpovement programs across multiple sites
  • Facilitate training sessions across all levels of organization

Required Skills

  • Requires bilingual professional communication skills in English and German or Spanish
  • Demonstrates the ability to grasp business concepts and various degrees of complexity and apply a foundation of technical knowledge and standards to solve problems.
  • Proven track record of mentoring teams that do not directly report to the position
  • Proven capability to develop, leverage and govern projects using Change Management toolbox.
  • Capable of leading multiple projects at different sites/business concurrently
  • Ability to engage key stakeholders to meet deliverables and foster change at their sites.
  • Facilitative; can lead a project with multiple stakeholders and align their objectives in order to meet project milestones
  • At least 75% travel to Grace manufacturing locations 

Required Experience

  • BS in Engineering related field
  • Track record of success in Lean, Six Sigma or Continuous improvement program
  • 10+ years of operations management experience preferably in chemical manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean Operations and/or Black Belt accreditations
  • Customer focus bias - seeks to understand customers' circumstances, problems, expectations and needs. Demonstrates the ability to build rapport and cooperative relationships with customers and stakeholder groups.
  • Influencer behaviour - demonstrates proficiency in identifying needs of key people and develops best strategy to get agreement
  • Manages change behaviour - maintains enthusiasm.Copes effectively with ambiguity. Handles complex, ambiguous and multiple tasks at same time.
