Job Description

The HR Manager partners with the Plant Manager and other business leaders to develop and implement strategies that are tightly linked to the objectives and key challenges of the facility and the business.  This role plays a key leadership role, with responsibility for all aspects of staffing, development, employee relations, HR policy development and administration.  The HR Manager collaborates closely with corporate support teams for effective delivery of payroll and benefits services to our employees.
 
Responsibilities include the following:  

  • Active collaborative participation on the plant leadership team, providing HR guidance & coaching on operational plans, activities and decisions
  • Demonstrate leadership in areas of employee health and safety
  • Track and analyze key HR metrics to determine root causes and execute counter actions
  • Ensure plant HR administrative processes are effective, efficient and service oriented.
  • Develop and drive initiatives to build employee engagement and satisfaction
  • Ensure that HR priorities are effectively implemented in a fast paced and global matrix environment
  • Ensure local/country specific HR related topics are managed in close cooperation with external partners
  • Provide leadership, guidance and counsel to the functional leaders on matters related to talent, organizational change, and human capital
  • Develop an HR plan aligned with business objectives to include organizational design, succession planning, talent management, goal alignment, and communications

Required Skills

At least 7+ years experience of progressive HR experience in a multi-shift manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of Provincial and Canadian employment standards and laws

Strong business and employee relations acumen

Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field of study

Excellent fluency in French and English language

Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Improvement methodologies

Proven track record of delivering results

Working knowledge of HRIS & IT systems (Kronos, SAP)

Ability to communicate, interact and influence effectively at all levels of an organization

Ability to think critically in challenging situations

Strong professional maturity

Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and the organization
