Job Description
Grace is seeking a Global Account Manager (GAM) to join our Fine Chemicals team. This position may be based at our South Haven, MI site or work remotely, and reports directly to the Global Business Director located in South Haven.
The Global Account Manager (GAM) is a strategic leader responsible for managing and growing Grace’s most critical global customer relationships. Serving as the primary liaison for assigned accounts, the GAM ensures client satisfaction, drives revenue growth, and coordinates cross-functional resources. This role focuses on the largest, high-potential customers within the Fine Chemicals business unit, executing strategies that deliver long-term value and align with Grace’s global objectives.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the strategic point of contact for assigned Global/Key Accounts, ensuring alignment between client priorities and organizational objectives.
- Develop and lead global account strategies that drive growth, strengthen partnerships, and deliver long-term value for both the client and the company.
- Negotiates multi-year Supply Agreements/Commercial Agreements
- Foster executive-level relationships across client organizations, influencing decision-making and building trust at all levels.
- Connect client leadership with internal executives to advance strategic initiatives and deepen engagement.
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, leveraging market insights to expand account footprint and revenue streams.
- Mobilize and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver complex, tailored solutions that meet client needs.
- Provide senior leadership with actionable reporting, forecasting, and commercial insights to inform strategic decisions.
- Proactively resolve high-impact client issues, ensuring continuity of service and maintaining strong satisfaction metrics.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, and market developments to anticipate client needs and shape forward-looking strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Technical Discipline (Chemistry; Engineering; Biology; etc.).
- A minimum of 12+ years of Business Development or Account Management experience is required in the Contract Development Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) segment of the Pharmaceutical Industry.
- Proven experience managing multinational or global accounts.
- Demonstrates business acumen, leadership and agility
- Strong understanding of cross-cultural business practices and global commerce.
- Strategic thinking and analytical problem solving.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (25-50%). #LI -TC
Physical Requirements and Environment
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders.
- Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection on an as-needed basis.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and standards in a pilot plant facility or laboratory environment.

- An advanced technical degree or MBA
- Operational/Site Experience (Production; Quality; Finance; etc.)
- Proficiency with Salesforce (Customer Relationship Management Tool)
