Job Description

 

We are hiring a Production Engineer at our Pasadena, TX plant site! The role reports directly to the Production Engineering Manager will be accountable for quality and productivity in the polyolefin catalyst manufacturing units.

Responsibilities

 

  • Maintains over-all understanding of process capability & capacity
  • Reports Production metrics in meetings and on Team Guru dashboard
  • Identifies and defines requirements for process improvement / productivity projects
  • Executes and tracks productivity projects
  • Troubleshooting long term process / production issues
  • Ensures usage of process related best practices, standards, and Critical to Quality (CTQ) plans.
  • Develops process control support to ensure process/quality variations are minimized 
  • Provides statistical data analysis for Process Control and RCAs
  • Supports Internal Quality and Customer Complaint RCAs
  • Participates in safety programs and initiatives
  • Supports the technical training of site personnel
  • Conduct Management of Change (MOCs) and participates in PSSRs
  • Participates in Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs)
  • Participate in OIR/incident investigations 
  • Prepares technical Daily Operating Instructions/work instructions for Operations 
  • Uses Six Sigma tools to drive productivity and performance improvements

Physical Requirements and Environment

  • Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator

Required Qualifications

 

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 4-5 minimum years engineering experience with a chemical manufacturing plant
  • Previous experience as a Production or Process Engineer 
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot plant equipment and process data.
  • Must be able to maintain focus on Safety and Environmental in all activities, wear requisite PPE, and meet physical requirements of the job. 
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment (leading and participating)
  • Must have excellent communication (verbal and written) and strong ability to influence others.
  • Strong organizational skills, including leading ad hoc teams.

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Experience in a PSM facility
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
