Job Description
Grace is looking for a Maintenance Manager to join their dynamic team located in Pasadena, TX.
The Pasadena faciaility is an important manufacturing and distribution site for Grace polyolefin catalysts, which are used in the production of a wide variety of plastics that are part of our everyday lives. The site has three catalyst manufacturing units and a pilot plant, which is used to develop new manufacturing processes. It also operates a research laboratory, which provides plant support for product scale-up, process development, and problem solving.
The Maintenance Manager is accountable for managing effective maintenance, reliability programs and turnarounds in accordance with all EHSS and PSM policies and guidelines. As a member of the site leadership team, the Maintenance Manager will drive asset performance, safety, and continuous improvement.
Schedule: 5/8 or 9/80 Day Schedule (Monday-Friday)
Responsibilities
- Lead the maintenance and engineering organization to maintain and utilize assets safely and efficiently, including developing and managing the annual maintenance and engineering budget.
- Develop and execute comprehensive engineering programs that improve equipment performance, plant reliability, and overall uptime.
- Oversee day-to-day maintenance and capital project management with a focus on sustainable, long-term improvements.
- Plan and execute maintenance outages and annual turnarounds, ensuring rigorous preparation and flawless execution.
- Provide leadership to direct reports; set performance goals, deliver feedback, and facilitate career development.
- Collaborate with Operations and Process Technology to support new product and technology implementations.
- Ensuring optimization of MRO inventory and management of critical spare parts to support optimal performance.
- Support the site PSM program by scheduling mechanical-integrity inspections, coordinating audits, and driving timely follow-through on compliance activities.
- Develop and implement plant maintenance strategies and improvement initiatives; identify and communicate KPIs.
- Lead change effectively and champion continuous improvement across the maintenance and engineering function.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 12+ years of experience in maintenance and engineering, including leadership/management.
- Experience in Process Safety Managerment (PSM) programs and SAP.
- Chemical plant experience.
- Experience creating a culture of safety and world-class enviromental compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with Turnaround Management and Project Management.
- Experience with implementing procedures and systems to ensure. maintenance and capital project efficiency.
- Experience with Team Guru and SharePoint.

Physical Requirements and Environment
- Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials
- Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
- Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
