Job Description

We’re hiring a Shift Supervisor for the Norco, LA site who will report to the Production Manager.  This role ensures the plant is achieving its daily safety and operational goals by managing the operational discipline of operating technicians and providing a focal point for escalations and feedback between the operating technicians and support roles. You must be able to work rotating shifts to include day, night, weekends and holidays are needed. Responsibilities include:


  • Provide formal and informal coaching and mentoring of Operations staff by actively being involved with day to day activities including leading daily shift meetings, performing area tours, ensuring adherence to policy, procedures and provide technical guidance and troubleshooting; Ensure cleanliness and 5S audits, perform safety inspections and adherence to shift schedule guidelines
  • Coordinate with Engineers to ensue alignment of daily tasks that need to be performed and assigned to operations staff and maintain a proactive awareness of the activities in the unit
  • Act as the point of contact for communication to and from of the Operations shift group when working with other groups on-site
  • Escalate issues per the site policy and provide feedback to shift team on actions taken to address escalations
  • Review quality and completion of lockout/tagout, permitting, procedure and shift notes paperwork
  • Verify and approve Kronos timecards
  • Review maintenance work notifications and when necessary process the request  
  • Review suggestions that are submitted by the Operators related to safety, process control, and capital projects and stay updated on the submittals and be able to discuss suggestions to plant personnel    
  • Act as the Incident Response Leader and document the necessary details for further investigations and may be involved with further investigations 
  • Manage and oversee the roll off container delivery and pick-up

Required Experience

  • H.S. diploma or general education degree (GED).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with performance appraisal performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and conflict resolution.
  • Piror supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting, to include PSM.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
