Job Description

We're adding another Game Changer to our Norco, LA plant as a Project Engineer...What's a Game Changer you ask? It's someone that has the ability to influence, drive continuous improvements while demonstrating a strong safety culture. As a Project Engineer you'll be involved with the following duties and responsibilities:


  • Assure that the projects being managed are being done so using sound engineering principles and are in accordance with national codes and standards as well as local PSM and Responsible Care procedures and standards.
  • Drive EHS performance for continuous improvements within the engineering department.
  • Directs and assists with the development of capital estimates for construction and/or installation of new equipment and prepares the Project Authorization Documents (PAD’s) for submittal to Division and Corporate Management for approval. Develop and maintain performance grid for each project to measure spending, speed and scope accuracy.
  • Directs the design effort for the assigned capital projects, taking into account the needs / desires of the EHS, Operations and Maintenance group.
  • Assists with the evaluation of performance and condition of equipment and initiates the corrective design to resolve both engineering and maintenance deficiencies.
  • Responsible for managing the budget and scope and schedule of assigned capital projects.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of engineering, material and equipment specifications for use in designing projects and equipment.  Also assists with the development and maintenance of procedures and standards to assure project designs provide safe access for maintenance and operations.
  • Aids in the development of large strategic capital projects and acts as a liaison and provides engineering support for outside engineering firms working on large strategic projects when necessary.

Required Skills

  • BS degree in Engineering (preferably mechanical, civil, electrical or chemical)

Required Experience

  • 5+ years work experience in project engineering area.
