Job Description

We are looking for a Supplier Relationship Specialist to support our global procurement organization. In this role, you will manage strategic sourcing activities, create and maintain purchase orders, and build strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. You will play a key part in ensuring cost efficiency, compliance, and reliable supply for our manufacturing locations worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Compliance with all internal and external safety guidelines regarding environmental protection, occupational and traffic safety in accordance with the GRACE EHS System and immediate reporting of defects and misconducts
  • Support of category sourcing that continuously improves suppliers’ and contractors’ compliance with Safety, Health & Environment and Corporate & Social Responsibility standards.
  • Work closely with Category Managers/Sr Relationship Managers and business units to establish and deliver procurement requirements and compliance to existing procurement contracts
  • Follows all SOP’s and WI as defined by Grace policies, practices and procedures that ensure risk mitigation and quality standards are met
  • Negotiating with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive prices and favorable terms and conditions.
  • Creating, reviewing, and approving purchase orders for goods and services in accordance with company policies, procedures, and established guidelines.
  • Maintaining accurate records of purchases, pricing, and deliveries.
  • Developing and maintaining supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
  • Analyzing market trends to identify new suppliers and products and recommend product substitutions.
  • Monitor and challenge non-compliant buying activities.
  • Confirms with suppliers’ accuracy and acceptance of PO information and updates as required, including cost, quantity and delivery details.
  • Proactively provides support for Sr Supplier Relationship Managers and Category Managers on routine procurement issues, i.e. invoice and receipt discrepancies, expediting orders.
  • Supports continuous improvement results in current purchasing procedures, always focusing on the elimination of waste and non-value-added activities.
  • Manage supplier quality expectations and identify suppliers needing corrective actions. Manage suppliers through the SCAR process to recover on delivery, material, or service expectations.
  • Participate in project work to identify, document, and lead cost down initiative projects as needed.
  • Close collaboration with the maintenance and engineering departments (Germany).

Required Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in purchasing and vendor negotiation

  • Experience in SAP and Ariba
