Job Description
The GA Supervisor – EMEA Operations & Intercompany Accounting is responsible for overseeing and supervising all general accounting operations for EMEA region and global intercompany accounting activities. The role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting by managing month-end and post–month-end close processes, enforcing accounting standards, and maintaining strong internal controls. This position also supports audits, resolves operational issues, and drives continuous improvement while aligning team objectives with broader organizational goals.
Responsibilities (1 of 3)
Daily Operations and Issue Resolution
- Supervise daily general accounting operations for the EMEA region
- Serve as the primary point of contact for EMEA finance stakeholders on day‑to‑day accounting matters, operational issues, and escalations, ensuring timely resolution and closure
- Ensure all accounting process documentation is current, complete and properly maintained
Month-End (ME) and Post-ME Close Cycle Activities
- Supervise the timely and accurate completion of all month-end (ME) and Post-ME close cycle activities across all locations
- Perform and/or review the following activities:
- Accruals for unposted invoices
- Various accrual entries (e.g. commissions, rebates)
- Bank reconciliations
- Sales deferral and accrual
- Accounts substantiation and balance sheet accounts analyses using Blackline
- GR/IR reconciliation and necessary adjustments
- Clearing of G/L account balances to ensure that only valid "Open Items" remain
- Cross-country audits of selected balance sheet accounts
- Verification of data accuracy and processing of accounting related information
- Posting of other necessary journal entries and adjustments

Intercompany Transaction Management
• Supervise the recording, monitoring, and reconciliation of intercompany transactions, including sales, services, royalties, cost allocations, loans, and related interest
• Ensure timely and accurate intercompany billing in strict accordance with approved intercompany agreements.
• Monitor intercompany balances to confirm completeness, accuracy, and timely settlement.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end intercompany reconciliations, ensuring variances are promptly identified, investigated, and resolved.
• Ensure proper preparation and recording of intercompany eliminations for consolidation purposes.
• Coordinate closely with local finance teams to resolve intercompany mismatches and disputes ahead of close deadlines.

Compliance, Reporting & Controls
- Ensure ongoing compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and company accounting policies
- Develop, implement, and enhance internal controls, particularly for intercompany processes
- Support the General Accounting Manager in establishing the team’s annual objectives and KPIs aligned with organizational goals and Key Performance Areas (KPAs)
- Assist in developing and maintaining General Accounting scorecards
- Monitor timely submission of all financial reports in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with offshore counterparts
- Document SLA exceptions with clear explanations and root cause analyses (e.g., system issues, process failures, or control gaps)
- Lead post‑month‑end process review sessions to evaluate issues encountered, recommend interim or permanent solutions, standardize accounting practices, and strengthen internal controls across all locations
- Provide support to internal and external auditors during audit periods
Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Supervise, coach and mentor team members by providing ongoing guidance, training, and development opportunities
- Set clear performance goals, monitor progress, and conduct regular performance evaluations
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the team
- Perform other ad-hoc and administratilve reports/activities that may be assigned by the General Accounting Manager from time to time
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- 5–10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role ideally within shared services, corporate, or public accounting
- With at least 2 years in intercompany or consolidation processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred supervisory experience in a Shared Services or Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) environment, ideally within multinational organizations
- Strong knowledge of accounting procedures and principles, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Demonstrates advanced management accounting and analytical expertise to support supervisory decision-making
- Strong organizational, communications and time management skills
- Solid business acumen, ability to quickly learn and interact across functions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and experience working with ERP Systems
