Job Description

Grace is seeking a Sr Tax Analyst to join our Tax team! This role reports to Finance Manager, Tax located at Manila, Philippines.

The Sr Tax Analyst is responsible for supporting the tax planning, reporting and compliance operations as well as internal control activities performed in GBS Manila are delivered based on identified metrics. Responsible for the preparation and/or review of tax workpapers, filings and reporting activities which support the overall tax compliance and reporting. This position is expected to be a strong partner with the global corporate tax, and external auditors to support the business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all GBS Indirect Tax processes.
  • Prepare and review data for North America monthly tax compliance.
  • Manage US customer tax exemption certificates.
  • Lead and review supporting workbook calculation associated with Grace’s indirect tax compliance (both sales and use
  • and property tax compliance) process.
  • Responsible for the computation of accruals and True Up for Property Tax
  • Prepare and reconcile foreign VAT reports. Review supporting documentation for EMEA Value Added Tax (VAT) process.
  • Review and approve assigned EMEA VAT tax returns.
  • Provide timely and accurate reconciliation and support for Indirect Tax Accounts - monitor account activity, record tax related journal entries, maintain supporting documentation, and update roll forward schedules.
  • SAP postings for all necessary indirect tax calculations.
  • Lead the tax controversy support.
  • Assist with providing documentation support related to tax examinations.
  • Assist in the implementation of the tax technology tools supporting the global tax function.
  • Participate in continuous improvements to drive efficiencies, automation, and accuracy in the function.
  • Manage stakeholders and provide permanent solutions for all issue escalations.
  • Manage or participate on special projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/College Degree in Accountancy
  •  6-8 years’ experience in a corporate tax department in a global shared service setup.
  • Working knowledge of tax accounting, specifically Indirect Tax (US Sales and Use Tax and EMEA Value Added Tax).
  • Excellent leadership, organizational verbal and written communication.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills, be highly organized, detail oriented, and prioritize projects as needed.
  • Possess the ability to work independently and exercise own judgment.
  • Knowledge on SAP or any ERP system.
  • Knowledge on Vertex or any indirect tax tools.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
  • Must be able to challenge process deficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Dynamic, flexible, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to engage and work with individuals across functional teams at all levels within the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge in advanced Excel functions and macros to streamline tax calculations and reporting processes.
  • Hands-on experience in automating tax processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
