Job Description

W.R. Grace is seeking a Human Resources Generalist who will be responsible for providing generalist support for managers and employees who are located in Columbia, Maryland, USA. This person will be the first point of contact for client groups in the areas of general HR questions related to Talent, Compensation, Benefits and HR processes. This individual will support key HR processes such as performance management, new hire onboarding, employee engagement activities, training and communications. The position will ensure effective delivery of HR core processes and compliance with relevant company guidelines, policies and practices. This position reports to the HR Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Administer Global HR programs such as performance reviews, talent reviews and succession planning, compensation programs and other employee-related programs (restructure, M&A, etc.)
  • Fully engage with leaders on requisition creation in HR systems, developing a comprehensive compensation analysis to ensure internal equity when moving to offer.
  • Analyze and assess talent data to determine demographic and other trends, providing insights into areas for improvement, recommending and implementing appropriate solutions
  • Identify trends and/or needs in partnership with the COE to develop solutions, programs and policies
  • Support employee relations issues; including but not limited to investigations, exit interviews, stay interviews, etc. 
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to managers and employees (TalentOne, policy guidance or other various HR related topics) as needed
  • Generate official documents and maintain digital files
  • Run monthly reporting and prepare monthly/quarterly presentations for HRBP’s to share with business clients
  • Perform transactional data requests in TalentOne to include pay changes, position changes, org assignment changes, and employee terminations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in HR or a business-related field
  • Minimum 2-4 years' experience in related HR field
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office platforms (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • High attention to detail, exceptional organization and follow through
  • High degree of emotional intelligence and ability to effectively handle sensitive situations
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Learning agility
  • Engaging with Clients, offering insights and managing ambiguity
  • Knowing the business, their goals and strategy and partnering with the HRBP
  • Being able to take the project/work beyond what is asked
