Job Description
The General Accountant is responsible for supporting accurate and timely financial reporting and the month end close process for the assigned regions, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and established financial policies and internal controls. This role ensures the integrity of financial records, supports audits, and contributes to continuous process improvement within the General Accounting function.
Responsibilities (1 of 2)
- Perform Month-End (ME) close cycle activities as follows:

- Accruals of unposted invoices as of end of the month
- Amortization of various prepayments, together with accruals (e.g., commissions and volume rebates).
- Bank Reconciliations
- Sales Deferral and Accrual
- Other entries/adjustments that are deemed necessary to execute and complete the ME close cycle activities
- Perform post Month End (ME) close cycle activities as follows:

- Accounts substantiation and analyses/Blackline
- Goods Received/Invoice Received (GR/IR) reconciliation and adjustments
- Freight analysis and clearing
- Clearing of G/L account balances to ensure that only "Open Items" are retained in the ledger
- Perform cross country audit on selected balance sheet accounts
- Verify data accuracy & data processing of accounting related information
Responsibilities (2 of 2)
- Perform fixed asset‑related activities, including:

- Creation and releasing of internal orders
- Closing of internal orders and capitalizing an asset
- Fixed asset disposal
- Internal order cancellation
- Minor Fixed Assets reporting activities
- Participate in all regular post-month-end close reviews to revisit process, discuss issues and propose solutions
- Assist with audit process and requirements
- Ensure compliance with all finance policies and internal controls
- Perform other ad-hoc financial analyses and administrative activities that may be assigned by the General Accounting Supervisor and General Accounting Manager from time to time
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or any equivalent
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- 2-3 years of progressive finance and accounting experience in shared services, Corporate or public accounting experience
- Highly proficient in MS Office applications and experience with SAP systems is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
