Job Description

The successful candidate for this Licensing Engineer/Manufacturing Engineer position will be involved in multiple activities as part of the Licensing Engineering and Manufacturing group. These could include manufacturing support and construction reviews for new plants, training of licensee personnel, on-site manufacturing support during new plant commissioning and startup, and existing licensee support related to troubleshooting or performance improvement activities.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Assist in the manufacturing support and construction reviews for new plants
    • Respond to inquiries from Licensee concerning operational issues which they face during project execution of their project.
    • Help Licensee plan startup and commission activities
    • Support Engineering Reviews and participate in HAZOP Reviews during Basic Engineering Design or Detailed Design
  • Assist in the training of licensee personnel
    • Provide Operational Training to Licensee’s personnel
  • Assist in new plant commissioning and startup
    • Create punch-list items of needed corrections
    • Review startup and operating procedures
    • Review safety procedures
    • Provide on-site operator training as necessary
    • Perform process control logic checks
    • Provide shift coverage as necessary for the initial operation of the plant
    • Interface with the Licensee Management Staff to coordinate activities between the licensee and Grace’s Start up Team
    • Assist Licensee in carrying out the warranty test runs
  • Assist existing licensee related to troubleshooting or performance improvement activities.
  • Response to inquiries from licensees concern existing plant operational issues
  • Assist during new catalyst trials
  • Provide on-site support for troubleshooting or to improve operational performance
  • Assist in the development of Process Design Packages

Required Experience

  • Polyolefin experience
  • 10+ years of experience as production or manufacturing engineer
  • Experience in the petrochemical industry
  • Plant startup experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS engineering (preferably Chemical Engineering)
