Job Description

We are searching for a Production Engineer who will report to our Operations Manager in our Lake Charles site. This person will be accountable for providing line process operating support to ensure the achievement of production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots process/ production issues
  • Provides Operations Supervisor’s first line of support for solving process management issues
  • Tracks and manages Production Yield, Rate, Quality performance data
  • Owns and drives quality improvement projects
  • Manages & improves area operator control plans, SOPs
  • Supports Zero Energy reviews as required
  • Identifies and scope potential process improvement / productivity projects
  • Manage and tracks small productivity projects
  • Conducts daily PHD reviews
  • Works with ASC to resolve discrepancies for on-time shipments
  • Supports month end closing processes
  • Support customer interactions (complaints, audits & onsite visits)
  • Participates in safety programs and initiatives
  • Supports & facilitates RCAs
  • Supports the training of site personnel
  • Conduct Management of Change (MOCs) Conduct Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs) including GMP and PSSR
  • Conducts Commissioning and Startup Activities
  • Conducts daily plant inspections and walkthroughs
  • Conducts OIRs and incident investigations
  • Supports Purchasing/GRs/New Vendors/Req's
  • Redlines Engineering Drawings and Documents
  • Manages and catalogs engineering documents and drawings (P&ID, MOC, Interlock Sched, etc.)
  • Executes productivity projects
  • Assists with emergencies
  • Conducts data sourcing and analysis

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering or another engineering discipline

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years engineering experience with a chemical manufacturing plant preferred
