Job Description

We’re hiring for a Production Engineer for our Lake Charles, LA manufacturing site who will report to our Operations Manager. The Production Engineer will be responsible for providing line process operating support to ensure the achievement of production goals are met.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provides Operations Supervisor’s first line of support for solving process management issues
  • Tracks and manages Production Yield, Rate, Quality performance data and owns and drives quality improvement projects
  • Manages & improves area operator control plans, SOPs and tracks small productivity projects
  • Identifies and scope potential process improvement / productivity projects
  • Conducts daily PHD reviews, Commissioning and Startup Activities, daily plant inspections and walkthroughs, OIRs and incident investigations and data sourcing and analysis
  • Works with ASC to resolve discrepancies for on-time shipments
  • Supports month end closing processes, customer interactions (complaints, audits & onsite visits), facilitates RCAs, training of site personnel and Purchasing/GRs/New Vendors/Req's
  • Conduct Management of Change (MOCs) Conduct Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs) including GMP and PSSR
  • Manages and catalogs engineering documents and drawings (P&ID, MOC, Interlock Sched, etc.)
  • Executes productivity projects and redline Engineering Drawings and Documents

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering or another engineering discipline
  • 2+ years engineering experience with a chemical manufacturing plant preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Chemical Engineering or another engineering discipline
