Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Process Engineer who will report to our Process Engineer Team Lead in our Lake Charles plant. This position will be accountable for the continuous improvement of process capability and capacity.
Primary responsibilities for this position:

• Maintains over-all understanding of process capability & capacity
• Identifies and defines requirements for process improvement / productivity    projects
• Develops process engineering packages for new products or equipment with external support (R&D  and Process Technology)
• Executes and tracks productivity projects
• Supports troubleshooting long term process / production issues
• Ensures usage of process related best practices & standards
• Optimizes production planning guidance - Product Wheel, EOQ, etc.
• Manages minor capital & non capital projects
• Conduct plant trials for new products and support development work
• Facilitates process mapping, kaizen and value stream mapping events aimed at developing a project pipeline
• Develops process control support to ensure process/quality variations are minimized and develops control plans
• Provides statistical data analysis for RCAs 
• Conducts regulatory compliance calculations, reporting and interfacing
• Participates in safety programs and initiatives
• Supports & facilitates RCAs and supports the training of site personnel
• Writes and edits SOP/work instructions 
• Conduct Management of Change (MOCs), Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs) including GMP and PSSR, commissioning and startup activities
• Conducts daily plant inspections and walkthroughs and conducts OIRs and incident investigations
• Supports Purchasing/GRs/New Vendors/Requisitions
• Redlines Engineering Drawings and Documents
• Manages and catalogs engineering documents and drawings and process information and updates for P&ID, MOC, Interlock Schedule, etc. 
• Assists with emergencies
• Conducts data sourcing and analysis

Required Experience

• BS degree in Chemical Engineering or another engineering discipline
• 3+ years engineering experience in a Petro-chemical manufacturing environment
• Previous experience as a Production or Process Engineer preferred 
• Six Sigma certification/Lean Manufacturing experience is preferred
