Job Description

Grace is in search of an Operations Manager who will report to our Site Operations Leader in our Lake Charles plant. This person will be accountable for the effectiveness and financial performance of operating units. 

Other responsibilities include:    

  • Responsible for managing, monitoring and controlling quality and production of products in assigned operating units
  • Leads the operations team to ensure the operating units meet EHS, productions and quality targets
  • Facilitates area daily review, area schedule commitment and weekly schedule commitment meetings
  • Ensures the accuracy and report on Daily and Weekly Operating Reports
  • Ensure the successful implementation of GMS and the sustaining of the long-term cadence
  • Promotes the development of a continuous improvement culture, including Six Sigma and Lean tools
  • Participates in the development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Updates and Forecasting and continuously review the plan compliance with respect to production, yields and fixed costs
  • Ensures the accurate accounting close for month end reporting
  • Investigates and explains manufacturing variances that deviate from the plan
  • Manages the engagement, performance and development of their staff
  • Leads communication and recognition efforts for the operations units
  • Ensures safety, environmental and PSM compliance of multiple operating units
  • Manages the troubleshooting process in the units and determine corrective actions in timely manner
  • Provides inputs to the design or equipment sizing to comply with processing and quality requirements
  • Manages and controls the raw material and utility consumption
  • Incorporates new technologies and leads new product trials
  • Manages product formulations to meet spec requirements and create BOMs
  • Directs and/or participates in all required PSM programs

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering Preferred)
  • 6+ years of operations experience in petro-chemical industry including leadership/management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification
