Job Description
Grace is seeking a qualified Electrician to join our maintenance team! This role reports to the maintenance supervisor and is located at the Lake Charles, Louisiana facility. This role is a day shift position.
As an Electrician at Grace, you will directly contribute to help the team to exceed safety, quality and reliability goals by exhibiting technical expertise to inspect, service, troubleshoot and execute repairs to plant equipment.
Responsibilities
- Ability to work with positive safety behavior, identify and mitigate task hazards, and execute safety procedures, protocols and permits
- Understand and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Troubleshoot, install, repair and replace AC/DC motors, MCC starters, controls circuits, and variable frequency drives (VFD).
- Program variable frequency drives (VFD) per manufacturer specifications.
- Troubleshoot and repair 120V, 277V, and 480V lighting circuits.
- Understand power distribution systems to include transformers, medium voltage switch gears and emergency power transfer switches.
- Repair and replace conduit as needed.
- Demo wiring and run/pull new wiring as needed.
- Understand programable logic controllers (PLC) to include Honeywell, Foxboro, and Allen Bradley
Required Qualifications
- Demonstarted ability to work safe
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- NCCER Certification (Knowledge and Practical Assessment Cards) or 3 years of experience as an electrician working in manufacturing environment
- Pass technical assessment of job responsibilities
- Demonstarted ability to collaborate in a team environment
- Skill Level Knowledge of SAP
- Willingness to work overtime, scheduled or not, to meet the needs of the team
- Willingness to participate in training to obtain technical certifications as needed to fulfill job duties (mobile equipment operation, technical training, etc.)
Physical Requirements and Environment
- Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
- Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
