Job Description

 

Grace is hiring a Sr Sales Manager to join our Speciality Catalyst Sales Team! This role will report to the Sr Sales Director as an individual contributor supporting a highly visible account. This position will work from a personal home office. Geographic location may be flexible with a preference for the greater Houston area. Most business will take place in the Houston area and there will be about 35% domestic travel outside the Houston area. 

 

The Sr Sales Manager has account responsibility for >$50M of revenue with direct accountability for meeting sales targets, forecasting and cultivating future sales, and managing the relationship with the customer.   The scope is designed to focus on polyolefin catalyst sales to the chemical industry by the means of sales, contracts, forecasting supply/demand needs, and building and cultivating effective customer relationships. 

 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Build strong commercial relationships across the functions and levels with the customer organization with the aim of optimizing both short term and long-term profitability and performance.
  • Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting of customer orders in order to ensure order to cash processes work efficiently and all customer orders are fulfilled.
  • Responsible for territory and account planning on short and longer term basis.
  • Create, manage and maintain excellent relationships across all functions and levels with customers and within Grace in order to successfully sell solutions that require support & approval from multiple constituents in the respective organization.
  • Manage ongoing base business and growth opportunities at customers including negotiation of volume, pricing and supply commitments.  Coordinate activities with functional groups including Marketing, Operations and Finance.
  • Manage pipeline of existing and new sales opportunities to deliver upon growth targets.
  • Act as coach and mentor to sales colleagues.
  • Negotiate complex agreements with customers against pre-agreed limits including but not limited to Confidentiality Agreements, Sales Contracts, Joint Development Agreements and R&D Agreements.
  • Accountable as key contact and focal point for customer activities and owner of customer communication and coordination plans. Ensure alignment of customer and Grace commercial activities.

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related discipline 
  • Minimum 10 years experience related to the chemical industry. This MUST include commercial sales/marketing and may also include technical experience. 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Technical experience with chemical catalysts and/or chemical reactor processes preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability for working in an independent environment and ability to self-manage and self-motivate. 
  • MBA or equivalent experiences a plus.
