Job Description

The Hesperia, California plant of W. R. Grace & Co. is currently seeking an EHS Specialist to enhance our dynamic team. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for the overall management of site EHS compliance and performance and ensure compliance, safe work practices and continuous improvement of EHS programs.


Job Duties include:

  • Assist with leading, coordinating, implementing, and supporting process safety programs, including OSHA PSM
  • Provide technical and regulatory guidance to site employees
  • Conduct hazardous waste evaluation and disposition, including profiling, site inspections, and manifest review
  • Investigate EHS incidents and near misses using root cause analysis  
  • Ensure emergency planning and emergency response procedures are in place and up to date
  • Interface with regulatory agencies to prepare permit applications and renewals


Required Skills

  • Up-to date knowledge of EHS laws and regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, and ODEQ regulations
  • Ability to interpret regulations
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Required Experience

  • B.S. in Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or other equivalent EHS related fields
  • 5-7 years experience working as an EHS professional
  • Minimum of 2 years process safety experience either as an EHS professional or in a role requiring detailed knowledge of process safety requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a chemical manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment systems
  • Knowledge and/or certification in Industrial Hygiene-related fields a plus
