Job Description
Technician Specialist – Quality
The Technician Specialist - Quality is responsible for quality control activities to support operations. The Specialist adheres to health, safety, and environmental guidelines, sample testing, generation of data reports, document control, and calibration of analytical equipment, while complying to the ISO 9001 standard, and communicating with other internal groups.
The Technician Specialist – Quality is onsite in East Chicago, IN
Responsibilities
- Perform analyses for product qualification with accuracy, precision, speed, and with minimal supervision.
- Ensure all analytical equipment is properly calibrated within the compliancy window.
- Perform sample standardization
- Prepare work assignments to provide an orderly flow of data keeping sample backlogs and turnaround times optimal for production.
- Assist with resolving quality issues including but not limited to instrument reliability, product adjustments and customer complaints.
- Communicate and interpret analytical results to interested parties (Management, Engineers, Operators, TCS, etc..).
- Generate and distribute all quality documents necessary for product shipments.
Physical Requirements and Environment
- Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, or another science, technology, engineering, or mathematics field
- 1+ years’ experience working in an industrial silicate lab setting.
