Job Description

The Technical Service Manager will lead the technical efforts aimed to identify and grow new business opportunitiesand sustain existing business providing technical support to customers for the ART Hydro processing Catalystsbusiness. This role reports to the Senior Sales Director.

Responsibilities

  • Ongoing technical services support of current customers. This includes unit data analysis, preparation for customer visits and follow ups, analysis and leverage R&D data to identify applications tailored to customer needs, responsible for the entire Technical Proposal when issuing to customers.
  • Help to select and identify catalyst loading diagram and prepare technical offer packages as necessary to participate in hydroprocessing catalyst tenders generated by prospect customers.
  • Work with ART specific product lines. This includes, but is not limited to, FBR (Fixed Bed Resid), Ebullated Bed Resid HydroCracking (EBRHC), HCR (Hydro cracking) and DHT (Distillate Hydro treating).
  • Provide technical support to the global sales organization including at customer visits, catalyst trials and onsite support at customers’ catalyst loadings and startups.
  • In particular work closely as technical partner with the regional business director and technical segment Lead to grow and sustain the business in the Middle East and India Region.
  • Populate with technical data and keep up to date the CRM’s software database of ART collecting the information pertaining the refineries and hydroprocessing units in the regional market under scope of work (Middle East).
  • Prepare and present papers and publications of technical content as necessary to represent ART Hydroprocessing Catalyst applications and performance in major Refining Conferences and Workshop in the Middles East and India region. 
  • Work with R&D personnel to design testing plans that meet customer needs in terms of assessments and troubleshooting as well as the development of new products.
  • Work closely with Sales, R&D and the Technical Experts (SME’s) to support the technical needs of the business. This includes, but is not limited to, technical service, technical proposals, and supporting catalyst loadings and startup support.
  • Provide innovative ideas to create new and modified products and services, adding mutual value to ART and our customers.
  • Follow EHS Processes and commit to a safe working environment for employees on all sites. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure prompt and appropriate responses to customers’ questions and requests.

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering, or similar
  • Minimum 6-9 years’ experience within the hydro-processing refinery with at least 5 of which must be in Refiningor Catalyst business technical services role.

Candidate Profile

  • Must be able and willing to travel significantly (~50%+) and operate on a global scale. This position is plannedto support Middle East region, specifically customers in the GCC
  • Must have broad knowledge and experience of the oil refinery industry, preferably in residue HydroprocessingOperational experience in residue hydrocracking, is an advantage
  • Field experience- Basic understanding of how equipment functions in the field and overall plant operation isrequired. Knowledge of hydro-processing-specific equipment a plus.
  • Must be articulate, able to present well and listen well and display good capabilities of "problem solving andtroubleshooting.”
    Must be proficient in Microsoft excel, PowerPoint, simulations models a plus.
  • Speaks fluent English and ideally some basic Arabic.
    Culturally sensitive to doing business in the Middle East and India, prior experience in working in the MEIregion will be an advantage.
  • Proactive individual who takes ownership to resolve problems.
  • Experience of working with senior level executive in a multi-national organization.
