Job Description

This leader will have full scope HR leadership responsibilities and will drive organizational capability within the ISC functions to help Grace meet its growth and productivity goals.  This position will also lead and execute critical HR processes for talent management, development, and succession planning.

Additionally, this position has primary responsibility for establishment and maintenance of positive labor and employee relations. This includes strategic leadership for planning and execution of labor negotiations for collective bargaining agreements globally.  The VP,HR will support continuous improvement in business performance and Operational Excellence, lead and execute HR M & A activities, including due diligence and post-acquisition HR integration projects.  They will lead a team of Directors and Sr. Managers who have responsibility for leading and guiding the field HR teams at various sites globally.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with key ISC business and functional leaders to develop organizational strategies and ensure organizational capability
  • Ensure the ISC functions have the resource capability and bench strength to achieve Grace’s business goals and growth strategies
  • Provide leadership, guidance and counsel to the ISC functional leaders on matters related to talent, organizational change, and human capital
  • Provide thought leadership to the ISC functional leadership teams to ensure understanding and execution of strategic plans and HR strategies
  • Actively participate in the development of ISC long- and short-term strategic plans and ensures alignment of HR strategies in support of corporate goals. 
  • Develop and execute an HR plan aligned with business objectives to include organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, talent acquisition and management, goal alignment, and communications 
  • Drive and execute critical HR processes such as our Human Resources Review and the Performance and Development Review
  • Participate in M & A projects, due diligence and  leading post-acquisition HR integration initiatives using industry and project management best practices and strategies. 

Required Skills

  • Extensive experience working with unions, works councils and leadership with contract negotiations, labor/management relations, dispute resolution on a global basis required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successfully on strategic initiatives as well as tactical tasks that drive high performance in a multi-generational, globally diverse employee population where flexibility and adaptability are crucial
  • Demonstrated organizational design experience including major transformation,  restructuring, and change management skills and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects from conception to completion in a fast-paced, global, team environment
  • Strong cross-functional business understanding with a P&L orientation
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate a clear and compelling vision and develop effective working relationships with people from diverse demographic and cultural background
  • Practical post-merger or acquisition integration experience
  • Chemical or process industry knowledge preferred
  • Ability to travel globally

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field with a minimum of 15+ years global HR business partner experience supporting global manufacturing plant operations. 
  • 10+ years of experience in direct leadership of Human Resources professionals. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR preferred as well as a Master’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration
