Job Description

We are hiring a Strategic Supply Leader reporting to the Senior Director, Integrated Business Planning located at our corporate headquarters in Columbia, MD. The position will lead a team of three direct reports with a hybrid schedule including Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays in-office and Wednesdays and Fridays flexible days to be in-office OR remote.

Grace Strategic Supply Leaders perform a critical role in our cross-functional, integrated planning and decision-making process – proactively managing, coordinating, and communicating forward-looking supply projections that are derived from commercially-oriented demand projections to ensure superior service to customers and predictability of business performance.  Strategic Supply Planners determine optimal and segmented supply strategies, including stratification of layered inventory (i.e. cycle, safety, and strategic stock) balanced with agile manufacturing strategies to enable competitive lead times and alignment with commercial terms.  The role is also responsible for identifying and coordinating with operations on expansion/contraction of capacity and working capital requirements to ensure superior service to customers, while financially outperforming industry peers relative to return on invested capital. 

Responsibilities

  • Leads the development of a rolling monthly supply plan with a minimum 18-month effective operational planning horizon and continuity through a telescoping 3-5-year strategic global planning horizon in both volume and financial perspectives that are aligned with growth strategies
  • Develops and manages global planning functions through strategy, network optimization profitability and KPI’s resulting in the maximization of customer satisfaction
  • Manages and proactively adjusts inventory levels in accordance to business demand changes
  • Responsible for ensuring linkage of Supply plan to production scheduling within manufacturing locations
  • Establish framework and implement effective Supply Review briefing materials to inform Leadership of the latest scenario-based, operational supply outlook and identify key opportunities for Leadership influence to effect outcomes.
  • Implements and Drives Change Management initiatives throughout the Supply Planning process
  • Collaborates with Demand Analysts and Operations Managers to account for constrained supply conditions to guide Demand Control actions (i.e. shape demand to match project supply capability), including mix adjustment at product grade level to support effective detailed planning and scheduling processes.
  • Manages strategies developed in alignment with Tactical Supply Planning, Manufacturing, and Sourcing to collect and analyze detailed supply planning and supply-side market data to improve the predictability of business performance and drive proactive insight to supply-side dynamics.
  • Advises and provides guidance on “what if” scenario analysis to determine alternatives and describe strategic and tactical options that lead to an operational perspective of Range-of-Outcomes (ROO) that can be evaluated against Financial Performance Ranges.
  • Manages facilitation of a discipline of capturing cross-functional commentary, action items, and effective follow-up for on and off-cycle actions.
  • Manages SC Supply Planning Leads to support the SC business.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. degree. Supply Chain preferred
  • 10+ years’ relevant experience in operations planning, including both strategic and tactical. 
  • In-depth knowledge of processes in sales management, marketing, marketing, finance, S&OP, Operations and Supply Chain
  • Supervisory or leadership experience
