Job Description

Assist Controller with all aspects of business-related accounting, while developing working knowledge of Grace businesses. Analyze monthly fluxes and provide support for external auditors. Review different business analytics, and balance sheet accounts reconciliations. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries, including volume rebates and sales incentives. Review and monitor the close process for Performance Chemicals/Corporate balance sheet accounts analysis. Review staff work and provide feedback. Document processes and recommend best practices. Assist with inventory accounting and intercompany accounting. Assist with quarterly and annual audit deliverables. Research accounting guidance. Provide ad-hoc reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of timely and accurate Financial Statements to lenders, Standard Industries (parent), and other regulatory filings.
  • Prepare/review quarterly & annual internal and external financial statements, ensuring accurate support documentation is collected and maintained.
  • Provide audit support for consolidated financial statements.
  • Research current and new accounting and disclosure guidance.
  • Partner with FP&A Cash Manager on cash reporting and forecasting.
  • Manage statutory and government reporting requirements.
  • Draft the quarterly financial reporting calendar.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong GAAP skills/knowledge required.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite capabilities (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with financial statement reporting desired.
  • Experience with enterprise financial software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills—ability to communicate to all levels in the organization and across functions.
  • B.S. Degree in Accounting, Finance or related.
  • 3-5 years’ experience with progressive career track within a public accounting firm or an accounting department within a large multinational manufacturing corporation
  • CPA Required, MBA Preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
