Job Description
Grace is seeking a Sr Technical Sales Manager to join our Refining Catalysts Sales team. This role reports directly to the Sr Sales Director, Americas. The Sr Technical Sales Manager is a “hybrid role” that is responsible for both Technical Service and Account/Sales Management to manage RC customers with $50+MM in revenue. The role will also involve direct customer accountability (NAM and individual site) to maintain and expand relationships representing the entire range of FCC products and services to assigned customers.
Responsibilities (1 of 2)
- Manage sales relationships across multiple Americas‑region accounts; cultivate “trusted advisor” status at all customer levels.
- Monitor industry/competitive trends to anticipate customer needs and share insights internally.
- Serve as primary point of contact for all assigned accounts, including national/global accounts.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure logistical, financial, marketing, and legal requirements are met.
- Ensure timely delivery of products, services, and information.
- Support forecasting, cash collection, and value‑selling strategies.
- Maintain accurate weekly forecasts, opportunities, and account data in SFDC; lead pre‑call plans and document key customer meetings.
- Develop and present proposals that clearly articulate customer value.
Responsibilities (2 of 2)
- Analyze operational data using modeling and statistical tools; communicate results across customer levels.
- Identify and communicate customer needs to support innovation and product development.
- Leverage product knowledge and technical tools to develop solutions that create mutual value.
- Serve as SME on FCC asset optimization and catalyst technology.
- Conduct technical seminars, customer training, and support strategic account planning.
- Collaborate with Marketing, R&D, and cross‑functional teams on product development, best practices, and standardized protocols.
- Represent Grace at technical and commercial industry events while staying current on refining trends.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and ethically.
Physical Requirements and Environment
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related technical field.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in the Refining Industry with at least 5 years of FCC experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience in value focused sales/service in the refining industry.
- Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills; able to tailor messaging to varied audiences.
- Effective working independently or in teams in a remote environment; able to travel up to 50%.
- Solid understanding of refining technology, operations, economics, and value‑proposition development.
- Knowledge of refinery structures and customer decision‑making processes.
- Proficient in simulation modeling (Petrosim/Profimatics).
