Job Description

Grace is seeking a Sr. Manager, Learning & Development to join our Human Resources team! This role reports to the Vice President, Talent and is located at the headquarters in Columbia, MD.

The Sr. Manager, Learning & Development will be responsible for driving the strategy and execution of Grace’s key and company-wide learning and development programs, processes, and initiatives. This leader will collaborate with global HR partners and senior business leaders to ensure learning strategies support and drive business outcomes. This position ranges in responsibility from strategic planning to tactical execution, including design, implementation, and administration of enterprise-wide learning and development programs. This role is a key driver to our high-performance culture goals to attract, engage, develop, and retain high-performing talent. As part of the Talent Management team, this role will also be involved in the execution of some of the talent management initiatives and processes such as performance management, DEI, succession planning etc. 

Responsibilities

  • Implement an enterprise learning strategy to develop capabilities that support business objectives and organizational growth today and for the future.
  • Partner with the businesses, HR Business Partners, and other talent partners to shape the learning strategy to meet the functional and business-specific learning needs.
  • Translate business needs into targeted development solutions that build knowledge and skills, promote career development, and foster organizational change.
  • Plan and communicate learning program strategy with stakeholders at all levels within the organization.
  • Ensure Diversity, Equity & Inclusion is incorporated into courses as a matter of how we operate, recognizing there will be some dedicated DEI courses.
  • Evaluate programs to assess learning effectiveness and implement changes based on feedback from the organization.
  • Keep current with industry-leading development trends through benchmarking, external partnerships, and industry affiliations, ensuring the team is delivering relevant content.
  • Manage the Learning and Development team and related responsibilities such as the LMS, implementation of the corporate-wide EHS training, custom content creation and assignment, etc.
  • Lead selection, contract negotiation, and relationship development for learning and training vendors, including service providers, content providers, and software and platform vendors, as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 12+ years of experience in learning and development
  • Thought leader who provides expert guidance based on leading learning practices and innovative trends.
  • Motivated leader with strong leadership presence who will inspire and develop a high-performance team.
  • Very strong communicator with an ability to comfortably interact with all levels of the organization, from C-Suite to Individual Contributor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in related field
  • Learning leadership experience working in global, complex organizations is preferred
