Job Description
Sr Maintenance Technician
Grace has an opportunity for a hands-on problem solver with a passion for technical excellence and customer satisfaction. We’re looking for a Senior Maintenance Technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining safe, efficient, and well-functioning building systems.
The Senior Maintenance Technician is part of highly skilled Facility Services team dedicated to collaboration, efficiency and excellence.
They oversee, supervise and participate in the installation, maintenance and repair of all interior and exterior surfaces on the Grace corporate HQ Campus and is led by the Facilities Manager.
This role is on-site in Columbia, MD with a Monday – Friday, 40 hour work week.
Responsibilities
- Complete assigned preventative maintenance and work orders.
- Communicate with office, lab and leadership associates when scheduling work.
- Schedule and manage onsite contractors. Enforce Grace’s safety policies, Critical Life Safety (CLS) and non CLS permit guidelines.
- Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions with an emphasis on preventative maintenance opportunities.
- Maintain and make repairs to building surfaces throughout campus including, drywall, paint, vinyl tile, carpet, etc.
- Relocate and/or dispose of various equipment and materials
- Maintain or obtain required certifications, for example Forklift.
- Manage and restock maintenance supply inventory.
- Oversee the fleet vehicle maintenance program.
- Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer concerns.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent OR trade school.
- 5+ years experience in facilities, maintenance and/or carpentry.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Current valid driver’s license.
- Experience using computer-based programs
- Experience performing carpentry and commercial building repairs including painting, drywall, vinyl tile, drop ceiling installation and repairs.
- Experience safely using and caring for tools and equipment
Physical Requirements and Environment
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders.
- Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator.
- Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials
- Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience supervising trade professionals
- Experience using excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel), Outlook
- OSHA 30 and related safety training
- Forklift or aerial lift training
- Education or experience in HVAC, Electrical or Machining
