Job Description

Grace is seeking a Senior Director of Technology Delivery & Business Operations to join our IT team! This role reports to the CIO and is located in Columbia, MD.

 

The Senior Director of Technology Delivery & Business Operations will be a key member of the IT leadership team, responsible for global technology delivery covering all enterprise applications including our SAP suite of products, Salesforce, Labware, Enablon, Adobe AEM, UiPath, etc. This strategic role will be key pillar of the IT operating model and will oversee a newly formed IT Business Operations team (responsible for IT Finance, vendor management and project management), global solution implementation (including implementation, maintenance and support via our third Application Management Services and Systems Integration providers), and strategic direction of the IT Help Desk & Employee Experience team. This role will partner with our internal business engagement, infrastructure, data & AI, and cyber teams in setting technology strategy, prioritizing projects & resources, and delivering value added business results using digital technology platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business engagement team and IT leadership team on project prioritization to ensure global delivery team is aligned with business priorities to maximize return on investments.
  • Lead global Enterprise applications/technology delivery organization to deliver solutions on SAP ERP, Ariba, SuccessFactors, IBP, Salesforce, Enablon, Labware, UiPath, Adobe Experience Cloud, and other strategic custom application systems.  
  • Provide leadership to the IT business operations team responsible for managing all IT spend and spend planning across operating and capital expense, strategic vendor management in alignment with SI global IT procurement, and a formal program/project management team.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the IT Help Desk and service management tool teams (those teams are part of the Global Business Services (GBS) organization in Manila, Philippines) to drive alignment with Grace and IT employee engagement strategies.
  • De-risking current enterprise application platforms and Grace investments by aligning roadmaps and investments in upgrade/migration.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to bring integration between Governance, Architecture, Solution design, IT Service delivery team, service providers, and business stakeholders to achieve business goals
  • Develop and implement best practices for enterprise technology delivery including testing, training, DevOps, and automation. Drive continuous improvements opportunities and facilitate change management activities at global level. 
  • Building and leading high-performing technology delivery and IT business operations team fostering a culture of collaboration, customer focus, action orientation, and accountability.
  • Relationship management with strategic partners such as software product vendors and system integrators. Partnership with Standard Industries digital team and other operating companies to optimize Grace’s IT spending and align application delivery strategy at overall SI group level.

Required Qualifications

  • Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, data science or a related field/experience is essential. Advanced degrees can be highly beneficial.
  • Experience: Typically, 15+ years of experience in IT leadership roles, with a focus on enterprise applications, data analysis, vendor management and technology delivery. Proven track record of leading enterprise application teams and managing large-scale IT projects.
  • Experience in managing global teams and must possess knowledge of business processes in manufacturing companies and experience in deploying enterprise and custom applications.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of enterprise applications (such as SAP, Salesforce, Enablon, Labware, Microsoft Power platform etc.), cloud technologies Azure/GCP platform, and data analytics. Familiarity with AI implementation, data migration, and integration of various systems is important.
  • Leadership and Management: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop cross-functional teams and collaborate with senior executives and stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing and delivering technology solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Program/Project Management: Expertise in project management methodologies and tools, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely delivery within budget.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and senior executives.
  • Vendor Management: Proficiency in managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts to ensure the best value for the organization.
