Job Description

This position will assist the Director, Operations Finance with all aspects of manufacturing-related accounting, while developing working knowledge of Grace businesses. 

Responsibilities

  • Analyze monthly fluxes and provide support for external auditors.
  • Review different business analytics and prepare forecasts or annual budgets for Hesperia plant.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries, including month end accruals, manufacturing variance adjustments, inventory adjustments.
  •  Ensure all department (cost center) accounting is correct. 
  • Lead the update of standard manufacturing costs for materials produced in Hesperia. 
  • Aid financial leadership to understand impact of manufacturing results on business results (profit center analysis).   
  • Document processes and recommend best practices.
  • Assist with inventory accounting and intercompany accounting.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual audit deliverables.
  • Research accounting guidance.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and support across plants in the network to aid Plant Controllers. 
  • Provide specific support to international plants that experience resource constraints.
  • Partner with Plant department heads to ensure all forecasts are submitted in a timely fashion and that all departments are maintaining spending within budget constraints. 
  • Aid plant personnel in identifying opportunities for cost improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of work experience in public or private accounting or auditing department
  • BS in Accounting or related field
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Good accounting and analytical abilities
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
  • Strong business acumen and time management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional environment
  • Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint        

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA/MBA working toward obtaining a CPA/MBA
  • SAP or related ERP system experience
  • Prior manufacturing accounting experience
