Job Description
Grace is hiring a Sr Buyer to join our Global Procurement team. We prioritize teamwork, performance, integrity, speed, and innovation while keeping safety at the forefront. As a Sr. Buyer, you'll support our North America footprint across INDIRECT information technologies (IT) spend categories. Those categories include
- Software
- Hardware
- Telecommunications
- IT Services

Responsibilities
As a Sr Buyer you will be responsible for:
- Fully understand, comply and enforce our Source to Pay policies and procedures across the organization
- Conduct searches for new suppliers of goods and services, evaluate their capabilities, assess risk and qualify as necessary.
- Fully understand user requirements and prepare and execute Requests for Proposals.
- Minimize the Total Cost of Ownership associated with purchasing goods and services.
- Negotiate purchase agreements with key vendors for the reliable and cost-effective supply of goods and services and ensure compliance with said terms.
- Effectively manage the transition from incumbent to new suppliers.
- Pursue consolidation of the supply base to reduce complexity.
- Manage supplier quality and conduct supplier audits as necessary. Resolve supplier complaints and issues to achieve an acceptable outcome to Grace.
- Work cross-functionally within the global operations organization and other support functions such as R&D, EHS, Quality, Product Stewardship and Marketing.
- Identify, execute and track productivity including cost reduction and cash flow improvement that support the development of the Annual Operating Plan.
- Interact with plants, business and corporate management as appropriate and prepare and present internal reports and project bid outcomes as required.
- Support working capital goals by reducing where possible the direct material inventory by increasing the ADP and negotiating longer payment terms with suppliers.
- Lead and collaborate with the Stakeholder community in the development of Category Strategies for Indirect Spend to identify and drive Procurement value across the business.
Required Skills
- Experience with sourcing, contracting, and purchasing of Indirect categories particularly corporate services (HR, professional services, marketing, legal).
- Capable of prioritizing, managing and executing multiple tasks in a high demand environment.
- Strong sense of matrix environment with the ability to effectively work within a team environment across countries and different time zones.
- Fact-based approach with solid analytical skills and ability to drive projects to successful completion.
- Working knowledge of logistics including Incoterms.
- Able to work cross-culturally with colleagues and suppliers throughout the world.
- Ability to manage small and large projects from multiple sources as needed
Required Experience
- Capable of communicating effectively (both oral and written) across all levels of the organization.
- Strong proficiency with SAP ARIBA and SAP particularly in PO creation (P2P), release and updating pricing info records, conducting RFP’s, catalogs, collaboration, sourcing.
- Ability to work with Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
- BS degree from an accredited university, preferably in supply chain management or engineering.
- 5 years’ work experience in a global industrial/manufacturing environment with at least 3 years’ experience in SAP ARIBA sourcing, negotiations, PR to PO creation with both and tactical and strategic procurement projects.
