Job Description

Grace is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our Site Services Team! This role reports to Senior Supervisor, Site Services located at Columbia, MD. Scheduled weekly hours: 40.

 

Job Overview

In this role, you will work with and support a diverse and highly effective team that lives our Company’s values. Managing the shipping and receiving department on our Corporate headquarters. Responsible for all inbound and outbound mailings, packages, and deliveries. 

Responsibilities

  • Manages the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
  • Collaborates and communicates with logistics technicians, customer service representatives, service providers, and other involved in the shipment and receipt of packages.
  • Assist site with printing and mailing needs as requested.
  • Assists in the shipping of trade show displays and material (to and from).
  • Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Promptly unloads trucks and deliveries. Sorts and stocks receivables.
  • Maintains an accurate daily log sheet of daily moves, scanning of deliveries.
  • Assists in inventory management and ordering of all mailing supplies.
  • Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
  • Duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements and Environment

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience. 
  • Ability to operate forklift, vans, and small trucks.
  • General knowledge and use of MS Office Suite.
  • Valid Maryland Driver’s License
  • Forklift Certification within 30 days of hire.
  • DOT certified for packaging and shipping of hazardous materials: Dangerous Goods (DG forms, commercial invoices, packaging and labeling within 90 days of hire.

  • Must be able to exercise good judgment: evaluate data and trends and make decisions based on the data.
