Job Description

Grace is seeking a Senior Manager, Process Optimization to join our Strategy, Planning and Sustainability (SPS) team and will report to the Senior Director SPS.  

 

This is a highly visible and impactful role where you will be responsible for collaboration and presentation interactions with the senior leadership team, including business segments and corporate functional leaders. You will lead efforts to standardize and improve cross-functional business capabilities within Grace’s Enterprise Improvement efforts. In addition, you will work with other process owners, executive stakeholders, enterprise architects, process design teams, subject matter experts, IT teams, and business development to establish the vision and design for standard end-to-end solutions that will enable integrated business functions in Grace’s future state and identify and recommend process improvements, policy changes, and technology enhancements required to achieve this outcome.

 

This position is located at our corporate headquarters in Columbia, MD and offers a hybrid work schedule, 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. 

Responsibilities

  • Gather and interpret complex information from diverse sources in a wide variety of forms. Identify issues, collect data, establish facts, and present conclusions in situations where few decision-making guidelines exist. Address difficult situations and provide objective and realistic insights regardless of the message.
  • Develop and implement new processes and optimize existing processes consistently across the company.
  • Lead the definition, implementation, business acceptance and deployment of cross-functional processes, systems and organizational model to enable global cross-functional capabilities, enable Grace differentiators, minimize business disruption, minimize cost and deliver the value pools.
  • With a focus on consistency across functions and processes, make or lead business decision-making regarding the design of the global solutions
  • Ensure seamless integration of the processes and technology across functional areas
  • Maximize adoption of industry leading practice, with the adjustments necessary to accommodate Grace unique requirements
  • Champion the transformation, creating engagement and active sponsorship of executive stakeholders, socializing an inspiring vision and plan with execution leads, defining and executing a robust communication and engagement program
  • Develop persuasive and impactful communications conveying complex ideas in a simple manner; manage stakeholder expectations including global, executive audiences
  • Effectively navigate complexity by breaking down large complex problem into smaller challenges to drive results
  • Demonstrate ability to lead by influence, including cross-functional teams to problem solve and manage escalations as needed, while remediating conflicts and challenges
  • Agile, flexible and a change champion, can effectively lead large teams through transformational change
  • Ownership of deliverables from start to finish

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Project Management or related field of study
  • Exceptional communications skills with the ability to develop compelling arguments and concisely present analysis and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in project management and process optimization with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Understanding and vision of end-to-end business transformations and interdependencies; excellent business acumen
  • Expertise with business process design, process modeling, value stream mapping and process integration
  • Analytical approach with strong attention to detail and project interdependencies and with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong influencing at all levels, including executive leadership and C-suite
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma or similar continuous improvements tools and methodologies
  • Effective leadership managing teams within a global business environment
  • Proven successful track record of managing projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or similar advanced degree
  • Six Sigma and/or PMP certification
  • Expertise in change management
