Job Description


Grace is hiring a Senior Corporate Communications Manager to join our growing team located at our corporate campus in Columbia, MD reporting to the Corporate Communications Director. This is a highly visible and dynamic role responsible for executive communications, internal communications and for all non-commercial stakeholders and serves as the primary liaison between the Digital Media team.

 

The core competency for this role is the discipline of corporate communications strategy and program design and implementation. The role requires the ability to produce and refine written content, and especially to provide strategic leadership for communications initiatives as appropriate for the functions. The Senior Manager also will support the Director in the management of Grace’s reputation and relations with non-commercial external stakeholders including investors, news media, communities, government entities, and trade groups.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Familiarity with Grace’s businesses, products, services, plans, practices, and policies with the ability to write on subjects for consumers
  • Write and publish content for the executive leadership team and to internal and non-commercial stakeholders. 
  • Effectively advise and collaborate with Media team members to articulate strategic drivers and creative requirements for media and creative deliverables;
  • Propose, manage, and evaluate initiatives to strengthen employee engagement and change management;
  • Develop and manage schedules and budgets for deliverables and initiatives;
  • In collaboration with internal clients and the Digital Media Team, support conceptualization, planning and execution of events;
  • Establish, manage, and analyze communications performance metrics and return on communications investment;
  • Research, recommend, and develop new approaches to meeting Corporate Communications needs;
  • Present and communicate effectively with executive and upper leadership teams

Required Skills

 

  • Writing skills - The interview process will include providing a writing sample on a subject we provide
  • Demonstrated experience with and a strong working knowledge of corporate communications strategy, program implementation, and evaluation;
  • Strong working knowledge of the creative process and production;
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple, varied projects simultaneously;
  • Strong familiarity with digital media.

 

Required Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Liberal Arts, Communications, Marketing or similar 
  • 8+ years of communications experience in corporate or agency setting;
  • Demonstrated experience leading successful communications programs;
  • Demonstrated experience in developing innovative, measurable, results-oriented communications approaches;

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • 10+ years in a senior corporate communications role
  • Executive and/or internal communications experience
  • Experience in manufacturing or similar industry with diverse employee locations and settings
  • Familiar with MS Office; SharePoint preferred.
