Job Description
Grace is seeking a Pilot Plant Logistics Coordinator to join our team! This individual will oversee and service the logistical needs of the pilot plant group, including shipping and receiving hazardous materials, managing storage warehouses, tracking shipping and packaging materials and supplies and overseeing the electronic system used to monitor shipments and requests.
Responsibilities
- Follow all Environmental, Health and Safety requirements. Responsible and held accountable for compliance with all Environmental, Health and Safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures. Adhere to principles and policies for the Grace 5S program.
- Must maintain flexibility in scheduling and collaborate with coworkers to foster a safe, engaged, and productive environment.
- Will frequently handle, store, and transport chemicals, including potentially hazardous chemicals. Must work safely with hazardous chemicals and various organic and air sensitive materials.
- Help in development of technically oriented materials and documents. Must be versed in technical writing, and will be expected to draft plant data sheets, environmental or incident reports, inventory sheets, process operating instructions, Job Safety Analysis forms, waste logs, forklift inspection sheets, etc. Employee will abide by corporate and site Critical Life Safety policies, perform CLS analysis and draft required documentation.
- Maintain compliance with corporate and group safety initiatives.
- Engage with corporate transportation and trade compliance group, shipping/trucking companies, various Grace logistics personnel.
Physical Requirements and Environment
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
Required Qualifications
- Become a certified forklift driver.
- Attend recurring regulatory training in the field of IATA / DOT hazardous material transport.
- Always utilize sound judgment.
- Display excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Understand the impact of customer satisfaction to achieve corporate goals.
- Must be willing and able to be screened and pass a Department of Homeland Security background check.
- Basic PC skills are essential, including the ability to navigate and utilize various software systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in handling pyrophoric and/or organic materials.
- Experience in shipping of hazardous materials internationally and domestically.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, Microsoft SharePoint, use and creation of SharePoint workflows (eg. Power Automate).
- DOT / IATA shipper certification (current or certifiable with refresher).
