Job Description

We’re hiring an Occupational Health Nurse to manage the health and wellness programs for Grace’s corporate headquarters located in Columbia, MD. You will assist in managing, coordinating, and driving global excellence in core occupational health management systems and processes. You will report to the Global Director of Safety and assist him/her in managing the domestic workers compensation cases. Additional responsibilities:



  • Interprets plant and departmental health policies and regulations to employees
  • Performs and directs professional nursing care for administration of 1st Aid emergency treatment of employee injuries and illnesses in the absence of a physician or at the direction of a physician
  • Facilitates/performs annual medical surveillance as required
  • Participates in planning and executing health information programs designed to improve efficiency and reduce absentee and accident rates
  • Provides wellness information to employees via programs and promotions, 1 on 1 counseling, and consultation with company physicians, medical consultants, and specialists
  • Reviews and reports injury analysis to determine education programs and focus
  • Maintains confidential medical files for current and past employees per regulation and policy, provides requested information per protocol
  • Coordinates drug and alcohol testing for the Columbia site and new hire processing in accordance with company procedure
  • Performs Phlebotomy, EKG and PFTs; conducts and interprets audiogram and spirometry testing; ensures equipment is properly calibrated and maintained
  • Provides training for Columbia site medical emergency response team
  • Coordinates annual flu vaccine
  • Assists on-site physician

  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • Experience with cloud based medical record management is a plus

Required Experience

  • ASN degree and Certified Occupational Health Nurse Certification (COHN)
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience in occupational health and case management
  • Licensed Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) or Maryland reciprocity obtained if from outside of Maryland
  • BLS certified and BLS instructor Certificate
  • Must obtain, Hearing Conservation Certification and NIOSH Screening Spirometry Certification or be within 1 year of employment
