Job Description

Grace is implementing Labware software as its global Lab Information Management System (LIMS). This is a multi-phase program to roll across all business segments and regions. The new LIMS system will provide a standardized global system to manage lab and quality processes more efficiently and help the business move faster. The Labware/LIMS system architect will be a part of the Grace IT team focused on Labware. The architect will work closely with the Lab and quality leaders and other members of the IT organization to deliver new capabilities and help improve existing solutions

Responsibilities

  • Lab and quality business requirements gathering, designing, and implementing solution using Labware and integrating Lab equipment and applications such as SAP ERP and reporting systems.
  • Partner with business, architecture and infrastructure team for solution definition, development and implementation. Ensure that solution being developed will satisfy business requirement.
  • Define and perform feature testing and educate business on new features of Labware.  
  • Design, configuration, deployment, validation, and support of Labware solutions. Also work with support team on the timely resolution of support requests. Own user security management process
  • Effective monitoring of Labware environment and identify areas of improvement.
  • Keep updated with new cloud technologies and Labware innovations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate stakeholders to identify opportunities for optimizing and enhancing the software. Gather user feedback, analyze usage patterns, and propose enhancements or modifications to improve the system's functionality, usability, and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent knowledge of Labware’s or other equivalent LIMS’s software Best Practice solutions and ability to develop technical requirements for developers.
  • 8+ years of experience in LIMS(such as LabWare, ThermoFisher) and ELN implementation and support, customization, integration with Lab equipment and other related applications for Lab and quality processes.
  • Able to quickly capture business requirements and translate in solutions using Labware configurations. Need good understanding of Labware Data model and capabilities.
  • Should be familiar with laboratory workflows.
  • Should have knowledge of databases – e.g., Oracle / SQL and Server-based architecture, Web deployments, Citrix deployments, web services.
  • LIMS Basic programming, XML, HTML, Crystal Reports. Good knowledge Advanced Configuration using LIMS Basic
  • Inquisitive personality with strong commitment to build career in the field of information technology. Track record of quickly learning new technology and implementing it in business environment
  • Strong project management and demonstrated ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good team player and open to sharing and gathering technical and functional knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, chemistry/biology, or mathematics.
  • LabWare or other LIMS Product Certifications.
