Job Description

We are hiring a Co-op to work in our Internal Audit department located at our corporate headquarters in Columbia, MD who will report to the Manager, Internal Audit.  As a Co-op, you will have the opportunity to receive valuable work experience that will allow you to better define career and personal aspirations and will challenge you to find creative solutions to real life business problems. The Co-op assignment will run from August to December. You must be able to work full-time (40/hr./week) and be able to travel to various Grace sites 1-2 days at a time, periodically throughout the month. 

By participating in this program, you will gain exposure to external and internal audits and risk management, gain SOX control testing, perform walk throughs and complete substantive and operational testing. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain experience for the Auditing industry by working alongside experts within the field of catalysts, business operations and materials. Our goal is not just to give you valuable work experience but find talent for the next generation of Gracians.

You will be paid hourly and will receive a $3,000 stipend. You must be able to commit to the entire duration of the Co-op. 

Responsibilities

  • Support the way we conduct inventory counts and various internal audit and Sarbanes-Oxley projects. 
  • Support our direct assistance activities for our external auditor
  • Travel to various manufacturing locations and participate in inventory counts then complete workpapers required by audits. 

Required Qualifications

  • Must have the ability to learn new concepts with limited guidance and direction (“can-do” attitude), a willingness to learn, and strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Must be entering your junior or senior year in college, or a master’s degree program in Business Administration, Finance or related field.  
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Transcripts may be requested as part of the interview process.
  • Strong MS Office, to include Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior work experience in accounting and/or auditing.
