Reporting to the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) Director this role is responsible for driving productivity and Grace Manufacturing Systems (GMS) across the Advanced Refining Technologies (ART) business ensuring productivity targets and GMS goals are achieved.
- Develop multi-year Operations and GMS Strategy linked to overall Grace Business Strategy
- Responsible for Operations Network Optimization focused on In-sourcing / out-sourcing intermediates, conversion costs, logistics / storage, and capital requirements
- Responsible for the prioritization and tracking of Operations / GMS projects
- Prioritize operations / GMS projects to optimize resource allocation
- Coordinate with Corporate Projects PMO
- Track and report on projects progress to ensure projects are delivering to company financials
- Conduct reporting and performance Analysis
- Analyze prior year performance and help set KPI plans / targets for next several years
- Provide in-depth analysis of current KPI performance against plans and forecasts
- Improve and facilitate implementation and operational cadence and GMS manufacturing reporting
- Responsible for evaluating financial benefits, technical reviews, project approval and allocation and optimization of resources
- Audit sites in their use of the GMS tools / highlight opportunities for improvement and work with site leaders to build and execute plans to improve maturity
- Mentor black belts, green belts and site GMS leaders
- Demonstrate an ability to be process focused and have an organized workstyle
- Must possess excellent organizational, communication, time management, collaborative and interpersonal skills
- Able to thrive in a fast paced, matrixed environment (This role will have a matrix reporting relationship to the ART Business Leader)
- Six Sigma and/or Lean certification required; black belt preferred
- Ability to travel up to 30%
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing management processes in a chemical manufacturing environment
- Strong grasp of lean tools, including standard work, 5S, RCCA, 7 wastes, and Kaizen
- Leader of change, with ability to influence and gain support from operator/craft level to site leadership
- Excellent critical thinking skills
- Strong coaching and feedback skills
- Ability to deliver training
- Facilitative; can lead a project with multiple stakeholders and align their objectives to meet project milestones
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Strong business acumen
- Minimum 10 – 12 + years’ management experience within an integrated supply chain environment supported by chemical industry knowledge and manufacturing experience
- BS degree required with a Chemical Engineering or related discipline preferred
- Site experience to include implementing and leading lean projects
- Experienced working in a matrix environment, influencing and driving results through department without always having direct managerial responsibility
- Leadership experience with Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing
- Demonstrated experience in operational strategy development, and manufacturing operating systems
- Extensive analytics experience in a manufacturing environment
- Possess a track record of delivering quantifiable value and improved operating/financial performance
