Job Description
Grace is hiring a Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator to join our Site Services Team located at our corporate headquarters in Columbia, MD. This position requires working Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm.
In this role, you will work with and support a diverse and highly effective team that lives our Company’s values. This position will provide leadership and supervision to the Site Services Team, primarily focusing on transformation opportunities to better serve Grace’s International Corporate Headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Serve as operations point of contact for facilities' issues: initiate work requests, monitor completion; coordinate and monitor routine maintenance services completion custodial, pest control, inspections, grounds, landscapes, alarms, systems & equipment and trash), suggest metrics, monitor and report related trends.
- Perform condition assessments on equipment and troubleshoot failures. Analyze results; identify and establish preventive maintenance plan; coordinate & integrate utility usage/optimization(monitor usage, gather info, provide recommendations, follow-up, shutdown requirements), analyze data and provide recommendations; coordinate, direct, inspect and approve contract work, third party vendors; identify, recommend & implement building operations & process modifications to the facility for increased productivity and/or cost reduction, manage related budget; coordinate maintenance logistics.
- Assist project manager acting as project coordinator/liaison, duties include scheduling, budgeting, and implementation within department projects.
- Coordinate campus space planning activities including analyzing moves for minimal disruption; move coordination; space inventory; space allocation tracking; specifying set-ups; and maximizing space utilization.
- Oversees plant maintenance and equipment schedules using CMMS.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors performing electrical, mechanical, and plumbing work. Ensuring that they comply with Grace’s safety expectations.
- Assure regulatory compliance, including environmental and process safety, and a safe workplace for all employees. Address hazards, deviations, and injuries promptly.
- Works to drive improvements in maintenance costs, equipment reliability, scheduled work, and planned work.
- May serve as backup to other skill trades workers on complex assignments or on as needed basis.
- The ability to read and understand general arrangement drawings, P&ID’s and Process / Block Flow Diagrams
- Participates in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) including PSSR, and Management of Change (MOC) exercises
- Supports and facilitates RCA’s (safety and process)
- Identify critical equipment and ensure compliance with site Mechanical Integrity requirements.
Physical Requirements and Environment
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED.
- 5-10 years of facilities and support services experience to include an acute understanding of facilities maintenance operations and maintenance best practices.
- Knowledge of the following: methods, practices, tools, equipment, and materials in a variety of building and mechanical trades including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and construction.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of safety and hazard recognition with a knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically those involving Safe Work Authorization, Critical Life Safety, and ability to act as a leader in these areas.
- Ability to utilize appropriate PPE effectively and demonstrate its safe use in this role.

Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of Process Safety Principles and Practices.
- Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
