Job Description
The Director, Process Safety will develop, lead, and manage the global process safety program for Grace. The Director brings forward strong subject matter expertise to lead studies and evaluations, determine suitability, establish direction, conduct risk assessments, define safeguards, assess operability, and interface with operational leadership.
Responsibilities
- Own the Corporate Process Safety standards
- Interface with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) as well as take part in initiatives within the company to include a Global Process Safety Team.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of core documents such as internal Practices, Procedures, Design Guides and Engineering Standards.
- Participate in professional/technical organizations and in the development and delivery of subject matter training for key process safety personnel
- Assist in the evaluation of process safety during due diligence activities
- Development/implementation of Process Safety Initiatives.
- Ensure the American Chemistry Council (ACC) Process Safety code is properly implemented along with continuous improvement activities
- Participation in professional/technical organizations.
- Development and delivery of training related to process safety.
Required Qualifications
- BS Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or similar technical degree.
- Minimum of 15 years Process Safety experience including prior experience with leading process safety programs at a regional or company level in the chemicals or petrochemicals industry
- Strong understanding of equipment and facility design, safety practices, standards, operations, maintenance and industry regulations
- Exhibits strong leadership, interpersonal, communication skills, and strategic decision-making and the ability to guide global work.
- Must have a strong understanding of equipment and facility design, safety practices, standards, operations, maintenance, and industry regulations related to process safety.
- Expertise in Management of Change, Process Safety Management, Occupational Safety, Process Hazard Analysis, Safety, Regulations/Industry Guidance (CCPS, NFPA, ATEX, CE, Factory Mutual, and OSHA), PSV’s, Dust Handling, and Industry Trends.
- Flexibility with global travel is required.
