Job Description

The Architect - Core IT Infrastructure & Cloud is a technical resource responsible for evaluating, designing, implementing and maintaining the core foundational infrastructure services required by Grace to achieve its business objectives. The candidate must possess a broad knowledge of infrastructure technologies necessary for effectively implementing and supporting critical systems.   

This role will require the candidate to leverage traditional on-premise, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure to achieve cost-effective, secure, and reliable solutions for Grace’s foundational computing needs. These solutions will require expertise in networking, directory services, virtualization, security and cloud architectures. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess best data centers (on-prem/cloud) and infrastructure components (network, server, storage, systems, security) to implement solutions.
  • Research new and emerging technologies to maintain awareness of industry’s direction.
  • Assist all phases of enterprise architecture development and implementation.
  • Coordinate opportunity assessments and proofs-of-concept to assess the value of new and emerging technologies.
  • Design/Deploy Hybrid Cloud solutions (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure) to provide seamless integration with existing on-premises solutions.
  • Perform systems design, administration, documenting, maintenance, monitoring and support of physical and virtual servers in a 24/7 enterprise production environment.
  • Perform infrastructure changes, performance tuning, backups, and migrations.
  • Provide infrastructure support to developers working on applications that use Microsoft Windows and Linux.
  • Participate in monthly weekend maintenance activity to apply system patches and upgrades as required.
  • Follow Grace’s SDLC project framework and change management processes.
  • Participate in the design, testing, execution, and run-book creation of disaster recovery plans.
  • Occasional travel required, up to 10% possible.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in information systems, computer science or technical major 
  • 5+ year’s experience in designing, integrating and managing complex network and system infrastructure solutions including cloud solutions
  • Knowledge of network architectures and virtualization technologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS/Azure Cloud certification
