Job Description

Grace is excited to announce our 2023 Summer Internship Program. Your internship project could be focused on one or more of the following disciplines: Engineering/Process Technology; Environmental, Health and Safety; Research & Development; Maintenance and Reliability; and Capital Management. These intern projects address Grace's day-to-day business needs and the work you accomplish will be an integral part for creating solutions and/or streamlining processes.

No matter what business and project you support, an internship at Grace is guaranteed to provide you with valuable work experience that will allow you to further define career and personal aspirations. Additionally, you will participate in networking and professional development activities.

General Internship Details:

  • Duration - 12 weeks (May 22 - August 11)
  • Potential locations include Columbia & Curtis Bay, MD; Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, LA; Chicago, IL; East Chicago, IN; Albany, OR; Chattanooga, TN
  • Paid Hourly
  • Projects will be on-site or hybrid
  • All students will be provided a $3,000 stipend

Required Skills

  • Applicants MUST:
    • be entering their junior, senior year or currently enrolled in a master’s degree program in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related science or engineering field.
    • have a minimum of a cumulative 3.0 grade point average.
    • be able to work the entire duration of the program without any interruptions, except for company holidays (May 22 - August 11)


Examples of Past Technical Internship Projects

  • Systematic Experiments with Hydroprocessing Catalysts - Utilize lab scale and pilot scale equipment for synthesis of hydroprocessing catalysts to draft and implement standard operating procedures
  • Compliance Systems Management - Document Management System Reviews, Energy Usage Sustainability, reduce use of compressed air, powerhouse compressor station inefficiencies, heat losses, OSHA PSM Compliance (PSI Gap Analysis/Database Development)
  • Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering - Test mechanical integrity of equipment and evaluate new suppliers/equipment
