Job Description

The operations Rover Supervisor is required to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.  This position is a maintenance facing position within operations team and ensures that the operations team is fully supporting the site maintenance management process.  The position coordinates operations accountabilities associated with the maintenance process among the production supervisors and themselves.  The shared and coordinated duties include but are not limited to isolation development, isolation implementation, equipment readiness for maintenance as well as permitting duties.  The position should be available to support maintenance planning job walks to ensure the operations and maintenance and planning teams are aligned on work scope and isolation requirements.  The position is also intended to manage ad hoc operations process troubleshooting and other ad hoc activities.  The position is designed to help ensure that the production supervisors can focus on production and operator support while this position focus on maintenance and equipment management.

  • Conducts regular area tours to ensure employee engagement, addresses performance and resolves issues, ensures cleanliness and 5S of areas, preforms safety walks / inspections.
  • Reviews daily maintenance plan with on-duty Extrusion/Finished Goods Supervisors. 
  • Coordinates permitting amongst the supervisors (including rover supervisor) and group leaders. This is to ensure that permitting gets done in a timely manner and is evenly distributed amongst the group based off plant priorities. 
  • Ensures equipment is ready for maintenance work and verifies completed maintenance work orders.
  • Manages isolation procedure library for major equipment/jobs. (equipment LOTO procedure folder on SharePoint)
  • Coordinates the development of new isolation procedures amongst themselves and the production supervisors.
  • Acts as lead for outage permitting. Specifically, reviews jobs for the outage and documents permit plans as needed and/or walks down the permit plans with necessary supervisors/group leaders.
  • Assists inputting maintenance work notifications.
  • Supports process troubleshooting to aid in plant reaching production target rates and quality.
  • Supports Training Coordinator with review of plant training needs. 
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent combination of education and relevant position experience 
  • Supervisory experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably a chemical manufacturing environment 
  • Experience managing teams 
  • Experience managing maintenance and equipment troubleshooting matters in an operations capacity
