Job Description
Grace is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Chicago 71st team. The Project Engineer will be responsible for project planning and execution on capital assets and equipment used in the chemical process. The Project Engineer will report to the Engineering and Technical Manager Operations. A successful candidate will work closely with other engineers, maintenance and purchasing to coordinate production with a focus on scheduling to ensure timely set ups. An ideal candidate will be a strong communicator who is highly organized, experienced with engineering software, and who understands the need for being customer focused.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the execution of site capital projects
- Manages and assists on all capital projects, facilities / infrastructure capital projects
- Is area knowledgeable and capable of executing projects to defined requirements
- Identifies develops project scopes, plans, and budgets
- Ensures contractors and vendors understand job scope and expectations
- Manages projects through the Accolade platform
- Participates in site safety programs and initiatives
- Conducts daily plant inspections, walkthroughs, commissioning, Startup Activities
- Develop a schedule and manage the logistics of these projects including compliance with time restraints and budget requirements.
- Work with site departments and contractors to properly design equipment that is purchased through the projects.
- Work directly with outside contractors on projects that require contractors to work on site. This work will include ensuring proper safe work permits are completed, conformity with corporate ISNet regulations, and planning work with all site departments.
- Complete MOC’s and PSSR’s on projects as they’re implemented.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel hands-on knowledge
- Previous SAP or Accolade experience
- Experience managing projects greater than 2 million in capital spend
