Job Description
Grace is seeking a Maintenance Engineer at our Chicago 71st Plant location. This person will work within a holistic and strategic approach in addressing all rotating and fixed equipment failures. The Maintenance Engineer will create and evaluate plant asset strategies that will increase plant production availability and asset reliability.
Responsibilities
- Provide Unit leaders and Maintenance Supervisors first line support for solving area equipment reliability issues.
- Track, manage, and analyze area asset reliability data through Uptime, TeamGuru, DataParc, and SAP.
- Perform Bad Actor analysis for area assets and implement plan of action to address gaps.
- Facilitate and manage area maintenance outage planning & execution.
- Train & improve maintenance processes & SOPs.
- Manage and update equipment lists, assignments, and documents in SAP, DMS, SharePoint, etc.
- Provide and manage OEM support for maintenance troubleshooting, preventative, and predictive maintenance.
- Participate in safety programs and initiatives.
- Supports the training of maintenance craft to increase craft capability and quality maintenance practices.
- Conduct Management of Change (MOCs) for asset improvements.
- Conduct Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs) including GMP and PSSR.
- Support Commissioning and Startup Activities.
- Supports Purchasing/GRs/New Vendors/Req's.
- Manage process information and updates for P&ID, MOC, Interlock Sched, etc.
- Support Maintenance weekend coverage.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or another engineering discipline
- 3+ years engineering experience in a manufacturing plant (Chemical Preferred).
- In lieu of degree, 10+ years of maintenance and reliability leadership and troubleshooting experience
- Extensive knowledge in precision maintenance and rotating/fixed equipment.
- Prefer certification or knowledge in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)
- Experience with one or more formal root cause analysis methodologies.
- Knowledge of PdM and CBM practices and technologies.
- Knowledge of PMI methodologies.
